Terms of Use
By downloading, installing, or using Camly ("the app"), you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, do not use the app.
1. Licence
The source code of this project is made available under the MIT License. The compiled iOS binary is sold through the App Store; the compiled Windows companion binary is distributed free of charge.
2. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use the app at your own risk. The authors and contributors are not liable for any damages, data loss, or other issues that result from using the app.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the app to:
- Record or transmit another person's image, voice, or screen without their consent, where consent is legally required in your jurisdiction.
- Circumvent security or platform rules of third-party services (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams).
- Infringe intellectual property rights or publish unlawful content through the stream.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the app, including the content you broadcast, complies with all applicable laws and with the terms of service of any platform the stream is used with.
4. Third-party services
The app can output a virtual webcam source that is consumed by third-party applications (video-conferencing clients, recording tools, browsers, etc.). Those applications have their own terms and privacy policies. Your use of them is between you and the respective provider.
5. Updates
The app may receive updates that add, change, or remove features. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.
6. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. These terms remain in effect for as long as you have a copy installed.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. If any clause is held unenforceable, the remaining clauses stay in force.
8. Refunds
The iPhone app is sold through the App Store under Apple's standard refund policy. Refund requests are processed by Apple, not by us.
